When Jakob Thomasen left Maersk Oil after 7 years as Chief Executive Officer, he turned his focus to oftere his extensive leadership experience as a consultant with particular focus on workplace safety, safety culture and accident prevention. Consequently, Jakob Thomasen established his company Thomasen Safety.

80% reduction of the accident frequency in Maersk Oil

during the 7 years Jakob Thomasen served CEO of Maersk Oil, the accident frequency on the global operations was reduced by 80% and the productivity was improved simultaneously.

Jakob Thomasen has realised that a fundamental change in the approach to leadership combined with implementation of focused tools is a prerequisite to accident prevention and a high safety level. This is a universal change process applicable in any type of company and organisation. Using purposeful leadership combines the high safety level with productivity improvements leading towards a high reliability organisation. A safe project is a profitable project and a profitable project is a safe project.
